INCLUSIVITY & ACCESSIBILITY

When we opened our doors in 2008, it was with the intention to build a practice uniquely equipped to serve every member of our community. Our founding doctors envisioned a clinic where entire families could count on comprehensive, compassionate care, regardless of their medical conditions, or fears. From our inclusive office design to the specialized training of our providers and staff, we are committed to creating a dental experience that makes you feel empowered and comfortable.

OFFICE & Hospital Dentistry

We are proud to lead the Department of Dentistry at Swedish Medical Center. This means that our doctors provide consultations and care for patients who come to the emergency department with dental trauma, or who may have emergency dental needs during their time in inpatient at a Swedish hospital.

Education & Advocacy

In addition to our role as dental care providers, our passion for education and advocacy is foundational to the spirit of our practice.  Through our affiliation with Swedish, we oversee a General Practice Residency Program. This program provides advanced training for licensed dentists who share our dedication to providing care for patients with complex needs. Our doctors are also active leaders in the Washington State dental community, working closely with the state legislature and professional organizations to expand access and decrease barriers to comprehensive dental care for all.

part of your care team

Oral health and dental care can relate to many other health concerns. If needed, we work as a team with our patients other healthcare providers and specialists to ensure that care is coordinated effectively and with the patient experience top of mind. This can include things like medication management, pre-procedure medical clearance, concurrent treatment, and others.

We are partnered with the Puget Sound Blood Center and can provide blood product infusions as necessary.

We have a fully stocked emergency cart with a defibrillator. Every member of our staff is trained in emergency response and CPR (BLS certified). All doctors have advanced CPR training and are certified in ACLS. All doctors who treat children are PALS certified as well.

“This office is totally judgment-free. The front desk staff, finance folks, dental techs, and dentists are welcoming and kind. They will not shame or guilt you for the condition of your teeth. They will help you figure out solutions in the timeframe and cost boundaries that you have.”

Residency Trained PRoviders

Because we believe in providing the best care for each patient that walks through our doors, all providers at Seattle Special Care Dentistry are required to complete at lease one additional year of residency following dental school to increase their expertise in treating the most complex dental conditions. Each member of our team is dedicated to providing care to all patients including those who have special needs and/or medical conditions which limit their ability to receive care in a traditional dental office.
